Diet Pills and Supplements

It’s no secret that when bikini season rolls around, we would all love to be flaunting a rock-hard six-pack at the beach. It’s also no secret that there are a number of ab-related programs and products out there that promise to tone your abs with no effort on your part, similar to the claims of the AB Energizer, offered by AbEnergizer4Less. Although AB Energizer has been around for a while, its inclusion in the “As Seen on TV” section doesn’t mean much when it comes to the product’s effectiveness.

What’s in it?

The AB Energizer is a belt-based product, which you strap to your waist. Then, the AB Energizer basically sends electronic signals to your abdominal muscles, rubbing or massaging your mid-section to “work” your abs without requiring exercise. AB Energizer uses batteries to keep the system running as well as “conducting gel,” which is available via AbEnergizer4Less’s website. Some information also suggests using the same belt may be used to tone your thighs and glutes, although this information has not been confirmed.

How does it work?

Much to the delight of couch potatoes, AB Energizer requires no exercise whatsoever; in fact, you can wear AB Energizer while watching TV. However, we had a difficult time pinning down any substantial research to support the efficacy of AB Energizer, not to mention a simple customer testimonial.

Who does it work for?

While we found no positive user testimonials available via AB Energizer’s website, we found a number of negative reviews on consumer-driven websites. In fact, one website’s sole discussion focused on litigation against the AB Energizer company, although according to their information, the lawsuit was settled in 2006. With these kinds of companies, it’s always difficult to determine who was responsible for the offense, but we would caution you to research any company you purchase from online, since the Federal Trade Commission was involved in some way.

Are there possible side effects?

Although there are no side effects listed on AbEnergizer4Less’s website, we did find some recurring side effects on consumer-driven sights. Most troubling were references to burns caused by AB Energizer, although we suspect that using the conducting gel properly should alleviate any danger from burns. If you choose to try AB Energizer, make sure you read all instructions carefully, and contact the company if you feel your AB Energizer is not functioning properly.

Are there any “bonus” features?

As is the case with many exercise products, different versions of AB Energizer are available for a number of prices, nowhere near the $60 “suggested retail.” AbEnergizer4Less currently has the AB Energizer on sale for around $38, although we found it for as little as $25 on other discount workout websites. However, AbEnergizer4Less is currently offering a free 30-day trial; if you are not satisfied after 30 days, your money (minus shipping costs) will be refunded.

With so much negative publicity and so little to recommend it, we caution you against falling for a product like the AB Energizer. Although probably 1 out of 10 consumer reviews actually found AB Energizer helpful, there is no replacement for eating a balanced diet and working out on a regular basis. Even if AB Energizer were able to help “tone” your abdominal area, there is no guarantee that the results would be long-lasting. You are much more likely to see long-term results by working at it the old-fashioned way, with careful meal planning and consistent exercise.
